Agnes Obel

Singer, songwriter, and musician Agnes Obel’s debut album, Philharmonics, went six-times Platinum in her native Denmark. ∙ Obel said she named her third album Citizen of Glass because she wanted to explore ideas about living transparently in the contemporary world. ∙ Citizen of Glass won the European Independent Album of the Year award at IMPALA, an organization established to promote independent European music. ∙ In 2018, Obel signed an exclusive deal with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label. ∙ Her songs were featured on such TV shows as Grey’s Anatomy (“Riverside”), Hanna (“Dorian”), and Dark (“Familiar,” “It’s Happening Again,” and “Broken Sleep”). ∙ The 2020 release Myopia landed on the “Best of” lists of several influential indie tastemakers, including Brooklyn’s Albumism music website.
