Evig Natt

A Norwegian orchestral doom metal group featuring current and ex-members of Einherjer and Enslaved, Evig Natt ("eternal night" in Norwegian) utilizes dark atmospherics, seismic riffage, and the spectral vocals of Kirsten Jørgensen to deliver their ominous and opulent take on the genre. Founded in 2003 by Jørgensen and bassist Stein Sund in Karmøy, Evig Natt released their debut long-player, I Am Silence, in 2007. The more refined Darkland, which added vocalist Oskar Naley and guitarists Ruben Osnes and Arne Marton Tangjerd to the roster, appeared three years later, deepening the gothic grandeur and emotional heft, an aesthetic the group would continue to hone on their eponymous third full-length effort in 2016. A long hiatus preceded the arrival of 2026's immersive and uncompromising Vaketimen, their first outing for the Italian label WormHoleDeath.
