In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Growing up, I was very shy to sing, so I wouldn’t unless my Mother — the choir director, stood in front directing. One Sunday, I was asked to sing a solo & I remember closing my eyes & letting the music take me away. I never looked back since! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs, Leslie Odom, Jr., Lin-Manuel Miranda, Phillipa Soo, Hamilton: An American Musical (Original Broadway Cast Recording) Michael Jackson, Thriller Paramore, Riot! These are three albums that have shaped my artistry more than I ever could have imagined. HAMILTON in particular is super special because I was part of the show on tour & on Broadway. Tell us why you chose this song. “Affirmation” In the studio, I decided to place audio of my grandmother’s voice at the end of the song. Two years later, she passed away & now I have her voice on a song of mine. It’s incredibly special to me & a memory I’ll always cherish.
