Florida rapper Dee Watkins broke through in 2019 with “Bad Ass Jit” and “Hell Raiser,” catchy songs about his mischievous past. • Watkins represents Macclenny, Florida, a city 30 miles west of Jacksonville. • He’s been rapping since age nine and recording songs in studios for over half his life. In his late teens, he cultivated a following by posting videos on social media. • In 2019, Dee Watkins gained widespread attention for participating in City Girls’ “Act Up” remix challenge. Days after his entry, he released “Bad Ass Jit” to his expanded fanbase. • “Bad Ass Jit” has earned more than 60 million streams across platforms. Produced by a Texas teenager called Rocktee, the song chronicles Dee’s troublesome childhood and his rise to musical stardom.
