In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was 10 years old, walking with a friend. With an inspired stride in my step, we didn’t have our instruments in hand, so I said, “hey, let’s sing our parts!” Smiles on our faces, we created my first experience of real musical comradery. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Allen Toussaint, The Allen Toussaint Collection Jon Batiste, Jon Batiste: The Nominated Collection St. Vincent, St. Vincent (Deluxe Edition) Jon Batiste defines love. St. Vincent defines innovation. Allen Toussaint defines purity. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Making this new album, my 8th, "Me." I spilled my guts. I tried new things. I even wrote an Italian aria and stuck it in the bridge of a song. No stone left unturned. My team was adventurous with me. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would like to take my band to far away lands via tours abroad that put real money in their pockets. They deserve the best experiences. I would like to hit more top 10 charts outside of just blues, since my music crosses over a lot (esp. now).
