About Girl Trouble
Pacific Northwest cult heroes Girl Trouble bridge the gap between the Seattle sound of the '60s (the high-energy garage rock attack of the Sonics, the Wailers, and Paul Revere & the Raiders) and the grunge scene of the '80s and '90s, playing wild rock & roll influenced by the past but embracing the snot, energy, and attitude of punk and its offshoots. Adopting the slogan "Eluding Fame Since 1984," Girl Trouble have always been in it for fun above all else, and their debut album, 1988's Hit It or Quit It, was a wild set of party-starting rock songs that established the template they'd follow for decades. 1994's New American Shame and 1998's Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays showed how much they could make of their formula, and 2026's As Is boosted the clarity of their production without watering down their sense of fun.
