Schola Antiqua of Chicago

Schola Antiqua of Chicago performs music from before 1600 and has won awards for its contributions to early music practices. The group is directed by a musicologist, Michael Alan Anderson, and its performances are based closely on contemporary musicological research. Often performing music that has never been heard in modern times, Schola Antiqua of Chicago records for its own Discantus label and for Naxos. On the latter, the group issued the album Notker Balbulus: Liber ymnorum in 2025.
