In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember a box full of vinyl records next to the entertainment center in the living room. I wrote my first song at 4 or 5 years old. My dad helped put chords to my melody. We performed it at church, I hid behind my dad's leg while he sang it. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Fleet Foxes, Fleet Foxes Mac DeMarco, Another One Over the Rhine, Meet Me At the Edge of the World While all widely different, each artist was able to communicate the mood and emotion of these songs with such unique expression that it makes these songs and recordings feel timeless. I feel like I'm transported to another place when listening. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Alaska” Alaska is an example of when words perfectly meet music. It transcends space and time, and taps into the raw emotions of love and loss mixed with a sense of awe and wonder. It mixes what has been with what could be, and the music carries us there. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I could call out accomplishments, but it's the people who come to me and tell me how much a song means to them. How they played a song at their wedding or how their children sing them. These songs touch the most personal moments for people. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Writing and recording songs that transcend time and space and can touch the lives of as many people as possible is a good starting point...and maybe a grammy.
