About Stoney LaRue
Country musician Stoney LaRue is one of the most popular artists in the Red Dirt music scene. ∙ Before pursuing his solo career, LaRue led the Organic Boogie Band, playing up to 300 dates a year and issuing the 2002 live album Downtown. ∙ His solo debut, 2005’s The Red Dirt Album, became a commercial breakthrough for the underground Red Dirt sound, and his cover of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young” was a live favorite. ∙ The 2006 concert release Live At Billy Bob’s Texas: Stoney LaRue remains his most popular album and introduced the country hit “Oklahoma Breakdown.” ∙ Marking a return to the studio six years after his debut, 2011’s Velvet climbed to No. 15 on the Country charts—a career best for LaRue. ∙ He can be heard singing with Miranda Lambert on “All Kinds of Kinds,” the lead song from her Platinum-certified 2011 album, Four the Record. ∙ In 2019, he released the LP Onward, which featured “Meet in the Middle,” a duet with country legend Tanya Tucker.
