About Robert Allen Parker
Robert Allen Parker is a Memphis-based guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Since the early 2000s, he has been part of the city's thriving local music scene and a pillar of its blues community. His playing style is rooted in the Delta blues, Southern R&B, and the blues-rock movement of the late 1960s and early '70s. His fretwork firmly acknowledges the influences of Albert King, Cream-era Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Jimi Hendrix, and Mountain's Leslie West. His debut album, From the Crossroads to Beale Street, was released in 2018 and featured him in the company of the Hi Records' rhythm section of bassist Leroy Hodges and drummer Howard Grimes. In 2021, he released the double-length The River's Invitation, for which he enlisted a cast of musicians from the local Memphis scene.
