By the new millennium, Yovie Widianto was renowned not only as the mastermind behind the popular group Kahitna but was also a sought-after composer in his own right. His next venture turned out to be Yovie & Nuno, which quickly grew to rival Kahitna’s success and became a successful standalone entity. The group’s sophisticated blend of a full band sound and orchestral flourishes, as showcased on hits such as “Dia Milikku” and “Menjaga Hati”, was a masterstroke, making the quartet one of the most recognisable bands to emerge in the 2000s.
