In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My clock radio switched on in 1977, and the DJ played the B-side of a Donna Summer single. That B-side was "I Feel Love", and it set me on a course of music, electronics and technology, with remixes for Cerrone, Sting, Phil Collins & Salt N Pepa. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ben Liebrand, Iconic Groove Ben Liebrand, Styles Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon (50th Anniversary) [Remastered] After a long series of just making remixes for others, this album established me as an artist and composer in my own right. Iconic Groove is a love letter to Disco, and Pink Floyd is always with me, wherever I go. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “In the Air Tonight (Ben Liebrand Extended Version)” Created as Minimix, to be played only once on Dutch radio, this remix found its way to the record company and into the UK top5 in 1988. Made from idea to final version in 8 hours, in, what used to be, my bedroom, whilst still living with my parents. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I just happened to be the first mixing DJ on Dutch radio. That happened to inspire a generation of Dutch DJs, and that in turn happened to change the Dutch Music industry, for which I received the Golden Harp in 2020. None of it was planned. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? It all started as a hobby, and still feels like a hobby, for which I am thankful! So if at some point I have to leave this chapter behind me, I can do so looking back with pride, without needing therapy or Prozac.
