About Skerryvore
Hebridean Celtic rockers Skerryvore became one of Scotland's biggest bands, gradually transforming from a traditional instrumental style to full-on electric pop/rock. Initially touring small venues in Scotland's Highlands and Islands as a ceilidh (country dance) band, they released their debut album, West Coast Life, in 2005. At first playing only instrumental dance music, their sound gradually grew to include pop, rock, jazz, country, and even Cajun influences and they released six more studio albums over the next 15 years. They eventually became one of Scotland's most popular bands, regularly selling out huge venues, receiving heavy radio rotation, and winning several prestigious trad music awards. Their eighth album, 2023's Tempus, was their poppiest to date, with a slickly produced, '80s-influenced pop/rock sound, and was their first to enter the U.K. albums chart, at number 36.
