Jesse and the Rockers

Phoenix City, AL-based Christian punk band Jesse and the Rockers was formed in mid-1997 by singer/guitarist Hero and drummer Rocket; after recording a five-song demo tape, the duo enlisted bassist Larry, soon playing their first live show. With Hero and Larry swapping instrumental duties, second guitarist Brian signed on in time to record Jesse and the Rockers' debut album T.I.N., issued in 1998 on the Screaming Giant label; minus Brian, the band resurfaced a year later with Madison Road. ~ Jason Ankeny
