About Damon Fowler

Fiery soul-blues guitarist Damon Fowler picked up a guitar at the age of 12, and after being shown a few chords, quickly developed an affinity for the instrument. He also fell in love with the blues gigged regularly in Tampa Bay-area small clubs. By adding hints of R&B, soul, and country to his approach, he learned to play lap steel guitar and dobro and also added a wicked slide guitar style while developing a serviceable singing voice. Fowler self-released Riverview Drive in 1999 and followed it with Roots and Branches (2000) and Live at Skipper’s Smoke House (2003). The swamp blues-tinged Sugar Shack (2009) and Devil Got His Way (2011) were released on Blind Pig. ~ Steve Leggett
