Missy Raines' proficiency as an upright bassist has not gone unnoticed in the genres of bluegrass and Americana. Working with bandleaders like Claire Lynch and Jim Hurst as well as the leader of her own ensemble the New Hip, she’s earned a reputation as a versatile, reliable anchor, as on her solo album Highlander, released in 2024.
