About Luke Winslow-King
Luke Winslow-King is a gifted singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist whose work is rooted in vintage blues and jazz styles, though he's also comfortable with modern electric sounds and sophisticated pop melodies. Winslow-King learned about music in well-respected academic settings as well as by busking on the street, and he found a home in New Orleans, Louisiana, when fate stranded him there in 2002. In the Crescent City, Winslow-King launched his recording career with a self-released and self-titled album in 2006 before cutting 2013's The Coming Tide, the first of a handful of well-regarded discs for Bloodshot Records. While blues remained at the heart of Winslow-King's music, he began adding funk and R&B flavors to potent effect on 2022's If These Walls Could Talk and 2024's Flash-A-Magic. 2026's Coast of Light added a breezy touch to his arrangements.
