Jay Buchanan

A soulful singer with a magnetic stage presence, Jay Buchanan is best known as the frontman of Rival Sons, the gritty California blues-rock band whose international success has exceeded their popularity back home. Originally a solo act, Buchanan's career took off with the formation of Rival Sons, whose self-released 2009 debut helped usher them into the mainstream, especially in Europe, where they became chart and festival staples throughout the 2010s. In the U.S., 2019's Feral Roots earned them a pair of Grammy nominations. Following 2023's Lightbringer, Buchanan revived his solo career with the 2025 album Weapons of Beauty, produced by longtime collaborator Dave Cobb.
