LTJ Bukem

A trailblazer and innovator in the jungle and drum & bass scenes, L.T.J. Bukem (aka Danny Williamson) got his start in the English jazz-fusion world. In the late 1980s and early '90s Bukem shot to prominence as a DJ in the thriving U.K. rave scene. His jazz background added complex, textured, and ambient elements to his sets, and his tracks "Demons Theme" and "Music" are considered early jungle masterpieces. Through his label Looking Good Records and his popular club night Speed, Bukem continued to promote both himself and other drum & bass artists, and played a key role in jungle's rise from the underground to the mainstream in the 1990s. He continued to tour, produce, mix, and DJ into the 21st century.
