About Jon Cowherd

A jazz pianist with a deeply nuanced and harmonically textured approach to post-bop and more, Jon Cowherd is best known for his close association with drummer Brian Blade. A co-founder of the acclaimed Brian Blade Fellowship, Cowherd has contributed to each of the group's albums, including 2014's Grammy-nominated Landmarks. He has released his own records, including 2013's Mercy with Bill Frisell and 2022's Pride & Joy with Chris Potter, both of which also featured his group with Blade and bassist John Patitucci.
