Mihkel Kutson

Conductor Mihkel Kütson has a large repertory of operas but has also conducted symphonic music, both in his native Estonia and in the German-speaking lands where he was partly trained. He is the principal conductor at several opera houses in Germany and also of the Vanemuine Theater in Tartu, Estonia. In 2014, Kütson made his recording debut with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, backing violinist Linus Roth in performances of violin concertos by Britten and Mieczyslaw Weinberg. Kütson has made several recordings with the Niederrheinischen Sinfoniker, including one of works by Vasily Kalinnikov in 2023.
