- Composer-producer OAFF—aka Kabeer Kathpalia—and his regular collaborator, singer-composer Savera, dive headlong into their Bollywood film soundtrack debut, Gehraiyaan. Lothika Jha leads the atmospheric pop of opener “Doobey”, followed by the artists’ distinctive and luxuriant ebb-and-flow backdrop for “Gehraiyaan Title Track”. Savera duets with Shalmali Kholgade on the shimmering synth-pop of “Beqaaboo”, while Mohit Chauhan—one of India’s most beloved voices—tenderly helms a reprise of the title track. And DJ/producers like Sickflip and Skeletron jump in with immersive remixes.
- Imtiaz Ali's effervescent romantic comedy features a soundtrack by A. R. Rahman that masterfully portrays the film’s spectrum of emotions. The Bollywood composer’s skill with complex arrangements is apparent throughout. There's the energy rush of "Matargashti", with its plinking harmoniums, sitar strings and shout-out choruses, and Alka Yagnik and Arijit Singh's loved-up duet “Agar Tum Saath Ho”, which floats gently along with flute and piano. Even "Wat Wat Wat", a distinctly happy-go-lucky moment, features shehnais, dhols and acoustic guitars.
- Ayan Mukerji's romantic drama is made unforgettable by Pritam, with lyrics for his award-winning soundtrack provided by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Kumaar. Nine tracks and a mash-up bonus cover a dazzling bevy of genres and themes from Benny Dayal and Shefali Alvares's jazzy vocal acrobatics on the big band-influenced number “Badtameez Dil”, to “Balam Pichkari”'s infectious upbeat hijinks while songs like “Ilahi” and “Kabira" delve into sweeter, more mellow tones with minimalistic arrangements and wedding dance number “Dilliwaali Girlfriend” ends the celebration with an exclamation.
