In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest memory is the chest compressing WHAM of an amplified kick drum coming through the mains during some sound check at some amphitheater my father was playing at as a child. I was just a few years old, but that wild feeling stayed with me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Harry Nilsson, Harry Nilsson Sings Newman Little Feat, Dixie Chicken Michael Jackson, Thriller These three albums inspired and shaped my own songwriting, and are also just incredible desert island albums. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “A Hum” Originally this song had lyrics and a lead vocal. At the last minute I pulled them and left it an instrumental. This is one of my fan's favorite pieces of music, and pulling the lyrics allowed the listener to drift off into their own imagination. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments yet was playing one of David Letterman's final shows on The Late Show. Will Smith was the guest, and the whole experience was frantic and nerve-wracking but the very definition of once in a lifetime. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? So many things left on my bucket list, but so many wonderful things crossed off too. I've still not played at The Santa Barbara Bowl, and ever since I started writing songs I've wanted to. It remains one of my top goals, if not THE top.
