Futurecop!

The sound of Futurecop! (and even their album art aesthetic) is pure nostalgia bait: stacks of lo-fi synthwave that recall soundtracks to obscure fantasy films or anime preserved on blurry VHS recordings of long-gone cable channels. It’s a formula that serves them well: since the breakthrough of 2008’s “N.A.S.A.,” they’ve reliably turned out a myriad of dreamy beats on albums like The Movie (2012), Return to Alvograth (2017), and Wind, Town & Flowers (2025), the latter of which is the latest in a string of releases that saw Futurecop! transition from duo to solo artist.
