Yovie Widianto

Indonesian pianist Yovie Widianto experienced success as the bandleader of the pop bands Kahitna and Yovie & Nuno. Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on January 21, 1968, Widianto is not only a pianist/keyboardist and bandleader but is also an accomplished songwriter and producer. He founded Kahitna in 1986 and led the band to great success during the 1990s and beyond with a string of popular albums. After the turn of the century, he also released a series of solo albums on the side. Without disbanding Kahitna, he founded the band Yovie & the Nuno in 2001. The name was changed to Yovie & Nuno beginning with the album The Special One (2007), which spawned the smash hit "Menjaga Hati." ~ Jason Birchmeier
