Orchestra of Opera North

The Opera North Orchestra is the resident orchestra of Opera North, the Leeds-based opera company founded in 1977, and has developed a reputation as one of the United Kingdom's leading opera orchestras. Based at the Grand Theatre Leeds, the orchestra performs a wide operatic repertoire ranging from Mozart and Verdi to contemporary works, while appearing in concert performances and recordings. Through national touring, festival appearances, and collaborations with conductors and singers, the ensemble has played a central role in Opera North's productions and outreach initiatives across northern England and the wider United Kingdom.
