Chester Watson

Florida rapper Chester Watson makes verbose, technically precise music indebted to MF Doom, Earl Sweatshirt, and more obscure artists from the deeper reaches of rap culture. Before he was old enough to legally drink, fans were trading Watson rarities compilations, and .zip files, and media outlets were taking notice of his nascent talent. Consistently seeking new angles on his creative expression, Watson grew with each new release, beginning in 2012 with his debut mixtape Phantom (released when he was only 15) and taking new forms with releases like his first studio album, 2020's A Japanese Horror Film, and projects like 2024 Elaquent team-up EP Montisona.
