Emma Pollock

Scottish singer/songwriter and guitarist Emma Pollock combines evocative, introspective lyricism with spacious indie rock textures, both as a solo artist -- In Search of Harperfield (2016) and Begging the Night to Take Hold (2025) -- and as a founding member of the acclaimed alternative rock band the Delgados. With five studio albums released between 1995 and 2005 including the Mercury Prize-nominated The Great Eastern, Pollock and her bandmates co-founded the influential Glasgow-based label Chemikal Underground; she is also a member of the Burns Unit, a Scottish-Canadian collective that also features Karine Polwart, King Creosote, and Future Pilot A.K.A., and co-founder of mental health-focused Fruit Tree Foundation.
