Tutty Moreno

Tutty Moreno is a Brazilian drummer, producer, and sideman. His easy, unshakeable, smooth swinging style has appeared on hundreds of recordings. He is the husband and chief collaborator of singer, songwriter, and guitarist Joyce Moreno and father to vocalist Clara Moreno. He has appeared on important recordings by Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Maria Bethania, João Donato, and many others. He began working with Joyce on 1980's classic Feminina, and most of her subsequent recordings as drummer and musical director. In 1996 he released his debut leader dates in Why Lie? and Playing, Feeling, Sweating, and followed with Forcas D'Alma in 1998. In 2006 he released Magica, a co-billed collaboration with Joyce. They also collaborated on 2007's Samba-Jazz & Outras Bossas. In 2008 he released Nonada, and in 2017 Dorival for Dori Caymmi. In 2026 he and Joyce collaborated with Adrian Younge on Joyce E Tutty Moreno JID027.
