Described by the BBC as “Technasia meets Underworld for a pint of Guinness,” Celtec Twinz are twin brothers Mark and Richie Thompson, whose music blends the ancient percussive sounds of Ireland's tribal past with the cutting-edge energy of techno. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alex Smoke, Incommunicado Daft Punk, Discovery Enya, Watermark With years of experience in producing and pushing their unique sound, having stayed true to their philosophy of creating music without getting caught up in the hype. Tell us why you chose this song. “We Were Kingz” Their debut EP, We Were Kingz, received massive support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Slam, and Rob Da Bank, establishing them as rising stars in the techno scene. The success of their debut opened doors for more releases What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? By 2006, the duo had expanded their reach with releases on Naked Lunch, Gotham Grooves, Firefly Recordings, and Paraell 125. As IDJ Magazine predicted, “2007 is the year to keep your eyes on these two.” Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The name Celtec (pronounced Kell-tech) is a reflection of their unique fusion—techno with a Celtic twist.
