About retro tape
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being a kid, falling asleep to the soft hum of an old CRT TV playing movie credits. The synths, the analog warmth, and that bittersweet feeling of something ending—that’s where Retro Tape was born. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Amartya Bobo Rahut, Javed Mohsin, Tanishk Bagchi, Drive (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Daft Punk, Discovery The Midnight, Endless Summer Endless Summer - it’s pure nostalgia in stereo. Discovery - it taught me that electronic music can have soul, story, and heart. Drive - because it perfectly captures the balance of loneliness and beauty in the city lights. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Neon Kiss” “Neon Kiss” — it’s the track that started everything. It feels like the first spark of love through a rainy windshield, when time slows down and all you can hear is the pulse of the synth. It’s both the past and the future in one moment. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The night I saw the first listener comment, saying my music made them feel like they were back in 1987, driving through neon streets after midnight. That was the moment I realized Retro Tape wasn’t just sound—it was memory, emotion, and escape. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’d love to score an entire retro-inspired film or a game soundtrack—something that feels like Blade Runner met Drive in an 80s dream. And maybe one day, release a vinyl box set glowing in neon pink.
