About Waymon Hudson

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I heard Whitney Houston sing ‘Saving All My Love for You,’ I was hooked. I belted it everywhere—living room, school, grocery store—so much my family thought I’d lost it. Really, I’d just found my voice. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Adele, 25 Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill Troye Sivan, Something To Give Each Other Troye Sivan gave me queer joy, Adele gave me heartbreak in the most gorgeous way, and Alanis taught me to scream-sing through life. Something to Give Each Other, 25, and Jagged Little Pill are my holy trinity. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Ruin Me Slowly” Ruin Me Slowly is the song that drips with heat—it’s dark, pulsing, and a little reckless. I love it because it captures that intoxicating mix of desire and danger you can’t help but give into. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting my debut album into the world as a deaf artist was surreal. I can’t hear music, but I feel it in every pulse and lyric. Turning that into songs people connect with is the moment I’ll never forget. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Bucket list: a duet with Kelly Clarkson. I’d try to keep up, but my queer heart would explode before the last chorus. And being recognized as not just a deaf artist, but a damn good one—that’s the dream.
