About Shaked Bàr

Shakèd Bar is an Israeli mezzo-soprano who specializes in Baroque and early Classical-period opera. With a wide range of opera works from that period, her operatic roles span even further, from Monteverdi to Vivaldi to Verdi. Bar's lively voice and stage presence quickly earned a strong reputation after her 2016 debut performance as Fiordiligi in Così Fan Tutte in Italy, one of a few experiences in a soprano role. Other notable canonical roles include Purcell's tragic heroine Dido and Meg Page in Verdi's Falstaff. In 2025, Bar recorded the part of Ruth in Cristian Carrara's opera Voci de Hebron on Naxos and participated in the valuable complete recording of the late 17th century Venetian opera Damira Placata on the Dynamic label.
