In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Rumi's musical journey began in the most personal of ways—through the inspiring voice of her mother. Watching her mother sing as a child, Rumi was drawn to the emotive power of music, and it became a form of expression and regulation for her. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Time Out of Mind drawing influence from a wide range of musical legends, including Bob Dylan, Adele, and Billie Eilish. Through her powerful storytelling and introspective songwriting, Rumi has carved a space for herself as a rising star in the music scene. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Rumi's talent and artistry were recently recognized when she was named the winner of Take Back The Mic Africa for Overall Excellence, an honor she shared with director Hiwot Admassu. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Rumi is in the process of creating her highly anticipated debut album, alongside a forthcoming single, both of which promise to further showcase her evolution as an artist.
