Johannes Pietsch, known professionally as JJ, is an Austrian singer who vaulted to international fame when his eclectic operatic pop single "Wasted Love" won the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. With both Austrian and Filipino heritage, JJ learned to sing while growing up in Dubai and later melded his love of pop music with the operatic vocal training he received while studying in Vienna. After competing on The Voice U.K. and Starmania, JJ finally found success when his dramatic debut single, "Wasted Love," was chosen as Austria's entry in the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. The song went on to win the Eurovision final in May of that year, significantly raising JJ's international profile.
