About BCHTA RISING

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of the earliest memories behind BCHTA Rising is hearing bachata in Dominican homes and New York apartments at the same time. That duality, island roots and diaspora evolution, shaped our mission to preserve and expand the culture. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aventura, God's Project Juan Luis Guerra 4.40, Bachata Rosa Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Aventura’s God’s Project for redefining modern bachata. Juan Luis Guerra’s Bachata Rosa for elevating its musical depth. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill for shaping how we think about storytelling, emotion, and production. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Escalofríos” Escalofríos captures what BCHTA Rising stands for: traditional bachata instrumentation blended with modern textures, giving a new generation of artists space to honor the roots while pushing the genre forward. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Seeing bachata artists from different countries unite on one project and watching the songs travel through dance communities worldwide. It confirmed that this genre is no longer local, it’s global. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To help establish bachata as a fully global genre while developing artists who will carry it forward long after us. The goal is not just hits, it’s legacy and cultural permanence.
