In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Starting out, my mother, who was a music teacher, started me on piano lessons. I hated it, of course, taking lessons from my mother. So, I took her guitar from her closet and snuck it into my room and taught myself how to play. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Anathallo, Floating World Bright Eyes, LIFTED or the Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground Coldplay, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends All three of these albums did so much to inform my understanding of singing - with falsetto, with emotion, with honesty - and the beauty of production led by what each song needs while still keeping in mind the entire album. Tell us why you chose this song. “Medication” This song came to me at my lowest, at a time where I wasn't sure I wanted to exist anymore, and it pulled the truth out from deep within me - that we deserve to live a GOOD life. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I hope one day I will get to debut at the Ryman!! Keeping my fingers crossed for that.
