The basic outline of Adrian Nunez's journey to becoming a country star is unlikely enough in its most basic details: few, if any, kids with Caribbean heritage and few roots in the South are likely to impact the genre. But Nunez, who came out of the gate with the 2024 breakthrough single "LOW ROAD" and a 2025 EP of the same name, has had an even weirder path to Nashville, involving a stint as a student athlete, a hugely successful social media footprint, and a cameo from another up-and-coming country boundary-breaker.
