About Big Doug
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I started composing songs since way back in my primary school. I made my first stage appearances performing for my fellow students at London College with the school band and throughout all the campuses of the St. Lawrence Academy, Schools & Colleges. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bebe Cool, Go Mama Burna Boy, African Giant Taylor Swift, folklore I love creative and relative poetry which I think Taylor Swift delivers always. I'm also a lover of advocacy art that comes through the right voice and Bebe Cool did that with Go Mama. Burnaboy is unique and bold, African giant was a great listen. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Akange Kaawe (Live)” The melody, vocals and lyrical poetry on Akange Kaawe always feels very special to me. Every time I listen to the song, I grow to understand how deep and twisted it is that I woke up one day and made a song about love with such uniqueness to it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I love every moment on stage when I get to sing my songs together with the audience. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes. A lot as of now. I want to be able to perform on bigger stages and probably win the biggest musical awards.
