About Stacey Hotwaxx Hale
Detroit DJ, producer, and educator Stacey Hotwaxx Hale is often referred to as the godmother of house. One of the first DJs to play house music on Detroit radio during the '80s, she's remained a staple of the city's airwaves, clubs, and festivals, in addition to performing internationally and hosting shows online. She is also a mentor and instructor at organizations like Girls Rock Detroit and Underground Music Academy. As a recording artist, she has mixing and production credits on records by artists like Eddie Fowlkes and K-Hand dating back to the late '80s, but she became more active as a solo act during the 2020s, with soulful tech-house releases like 2024's Deep Haus 3 EP.
