In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I’ll never forget sitting beside my PawPaw while he played that old guitar and sang. My Mama sang too, so I guess music just ran downhill through the family. I was lucky enough to catch it. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Black Pumas, Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition) Chris Knight, Chris Knight Matchbox Twenty, Yourself or Someone Like You Growing up, the simplicity of Rob’s music and the way he delivered a message always struck a nerve. Chris Knight’s visual lyricism shaped me too, and in later years, Black Pumas brought a soul and approach that really moved me. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “On Our Love” “On Our Love” means the most to me because it feels honest. It carries the weight of everything I’ve lived, loved, lost, and fought for. It’s one of those songs that reminds me why I still believe in music. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting to perform at Super Bowl XLV at AT&T Stadium is still one of the biggest high points of my life. Moments like that remind me how far music has carried me, and why I’ll never take this gift for granted. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I take it one day at a time. My kids, my family, and this gift I’ve been blessed with keep me going. I’m just trying to do right by it, so it’s not wasted. I want to show my kids and anyone watching that you give all you’ve got.
