About PalKid
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The moment that really drew me to video game music as a child was hearing Junichi Masuda's soundtrack to Pokémon Yellow. A simple soundtrack, limited to only 3 mono voices, and yet, so much identity, character, and colour underpinning the adventure. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? GameChops, Mikel, Zelda & Chill Lucas Cooper, Zelda - A Storm of Songs Tanoshi, A Journey Through the Sinnoh Region ~ Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Lo-Fi Picking 3 albums is impossible! But if I must highlight 3, I feel I need to praise some of the biggest and best albums of VGM covers, featuring some contemporaries and friends of mine. I was even fortunate enough to work on two tracks on one of them! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Kakariko Village (From "the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time")” My lofi cover of Kakariko Village - the springboard that launched my entire musical project. For me, this track represents discovery - a palette of sounds that glued together and felt like something not only valuable, but also identifiably "me." What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I started composing the music for games, including Inspector Waffles, Inspector Waffles: Early Days, Chance's Lucky Escape - I knew that thousands of people were hearing my music every single day, not just via streaming, but from games too. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just want to work with more artists and keep learning and growing as an artist for as long as possible. I want to help as many people have the best day (or night) they possibly can with my lofi beats as the soundtrack.
