A throwback to alt-rock and emo's crossover years in the late '90s and early 2000s, Chicago band Footballhead specialize in jagged riffs and bright melodies perfect for soundtracking a day at a skate park. What started out as a side project for the group's frontman, Ryan Nolen, has become a growing interest with a taut band fleshing out his early self-created tracks and the release of their 2024 debut album, Overthinking Everything, on the indie label Tiny Engines.
