Sebastian Esquivel

Sebastian Esquivel is part a of a new generation of Mexican regional singer/songwriters who is set on renovating the genre's traditional sound and outlook. Musically he has shown a predilection for the corrido bélico style, similar to the corridos tumbados in that it also incorporates trap and urbano elements, but with lyrics dealing with violent armed confrontations, and instrumentation that relies heavily on the tololoche double bass and the charcheta (Mexican banda alto horn).
