In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. “Tobetsa” from our debut mixtape saw our collaboration with Nigerian vocalist PinkyJay become official. It took us from local producers to continental, the song was a giant leap forward in our early producing days as a duo. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 2.0 Worldwide, ZERO TO HUNDRED Daliwonga, Abo Mvelo (feat. Mellow & Sleazy & M.J) - Single Felo Le Tee, Contagious Zero To A Hundred, in my mind is one of the best albums put together by upcoming artists, in that era. The second & third choices will always be a memorable highlight of a dominant period in the Amapiano industry, we drew inspiration from these. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Shaker Muchacha! (feat. Ice Beats Slide & Sbuda Maleather)” It’s a remake of an all time classic in South Africa. Simply put, our approach to the production was unique, interpolating the original with a full Selepe makeover, which was at that time an emerging “sub genre” in progress. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Haha, our first royalty cheque coming in. It gave us hope, after so many trials & tribulations, it motivates us to keep our heads up because there is light at the end of the tunnel, given that we put the work in. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To be nominated for an award one day, locally, continental or even international. The goal is to be recognised for the countless hours we put in at the end of it all.
