About Niipseedadust
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is growing up between Mthwalume on the KZN South Coast and KwaMashu in Durban, where I’d hear Zulu chants and coastal drum patterns from home clashing with the raw Afro House energy of the township streets. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? G-Soul, Niipseedadust, Asenuru - Single I chose Asenuru by Niipseedadust & G-Soul because it’s where I stopped chasing trends and leaned into live percussion. Working on that track taught me to leave space in the mix the drums breathe, the culture comes through, but the floor still moves. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Utshwala (feat. Zykes Magida & ImbongiYosizi)” I picked Utshwala because it shows exactly what I do: tell a real South African story, but make sure bodies move while you’re listening. Culture + energy = SDRecords. No surprise it’s the track everyone keeps asking for What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments for me was dropping “Utshwala” in 2025 and seeing it connect instantly with Zykes Magida, and Imbongi Yosizi fused Afro-tech tribal drums with his vocals and cultural poetry. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There’s still one big thing on my list: new music and live sets at sunrise on the KZN South Coast in Mthwalume, where I was born, and weaving real Zulu percussion and chants into Afro-tech tribal frequencies for a home crowd.
