In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest memories is sitting in my grandfather‘s lap in Barbados banging on the piano. I can see glimpses of it now and then. Those were such pure times. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chick Corea Akoustic Band, Chick Corea Akoustic Band Elements of Life, Louie Vega, Elements of Life Michael Jackson, The Essential Michael Jackson I chose these albums because they shaped me musically from different angles—Michael Jackson taught me feel and storytelling, Chick Corea sharpened my musicianship, and Louie Vega showed me how soul and rhythm connect people. Tell us why you chose this song. “I Am Home (I Am Home Club Mix)” I chose this song because it represents a season of grounding and gratitude in my life. I Am Home is about finding peace, purpose, and joy in who I am and where God has planted me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments was standing in the Warsaw Ballroom in the early ’90s with Brian Tappert as Jazz-N-Groove, hearing Louie Vega play our Moné record back-to-back. That moment confirmed we were part of something special. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’d love to remix records for Grammy-winning artists I’ve admired for years. Bringing my house and soul perspective to iconic voices would be a full-circle moment and a meaningful next chapter.
