Federico De Michelis

One of South America's rapidly rising young singers in the early 2020s, bass-baritone Federico De Michelis has been especially active in the U.S., where he was partly trained. During a stint at the Opera Studio of the Teatro Argentina de la Plata, De Michelis made professional debuts in several major roles, including Don Alfonso in Mozart's Così fan tutte. De Michelis went on to join the Opera Studio of the Houston Grand Opera in 2015. He sang with the Philadelphia Orchestra in a concert version of Puccini's Tosca conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. De Michelis' 2023 recording debut, Mi País: Songs of Argentina, appeared on the NYFOS label of the New York Festival of Song.
