Zahia Ziouani

Conductor Zahia Ziouani leads her own group, the Orchestre Divertimento, and has directed other ensembles in France and abroad. She is also a significant educator. In 1998, Ziouani founded the Orchestre Divertimento in the Department of Seine-Saint-Denis. With the Orchestre Divertimento, Ziouani has forged a distinctive repertory that combines music of the 19th and 20th centuries with world music and popular tradition. In 2023, Ziouani and the Orchestre Divertimento released their debut album, Bacchanale: Saint-Saëns et la Méditerranée. Ziouani has written two books, La Chef d’Orchestre and Zahia Ziouani, d’une rive l’autre.
