Mike Batt

British singer/songwriter, producer, and composer Mike Batt is a journeyman artist with a legacy of successful productions that cross from film and television to musical theater and pop music. He first found fame with the Wombles, writing and producing a run of hit singles, before building a prolific career working with artists including Art Garfunkel, Cliff Richard, David Essex, and Steeleye Span, and contributing to large-scale projects featuring George Harrison and Roger Daltrey. Batt also sustained a solo career with albums like Schizophonia, Tarot Suite, and Arabesque while expanding into orchestral and theatrical work. As a producer and mentor, he helped launch Katie Melua's career on his own Dramatico label and developed acts such as Bond and the Planets. His later output includes orchestral recordings such as A Classical Tale, Holst: The Planets; Elgar: Pomp & Circumstance March No. 1, and Mike Batt: Symphony No. 1 "Ukraine".
